Microsoft Remote Desktop on old Mac OS Hello, I am wondering if there is any program that will allow me to connect to microsoft remote desktop on the desktop end, from a macbook that is too old and can't run remote desktop on the remote end. Allow Apple Remote Desktop to access your Mac Use Remote Management in Sharing preferences to allow others to access your computer using Apple Remote Desktop. On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Preferences, click Sharing, then select the Remote Management checkbox. Jul 30, 2019  I'm having the same exact issue. Using a macbook Microsoft Remote Desktop 10 v. 10.2.13 to remote into an office computer windows 10 1903. When I use a windows laptop to rdp into the office windows rdp it works fine. So the problem is the macbook OS which I think is not compatible with the windows 7 or 10 OS.

In all likelihood, there’s no network connection and no path available between the sites, or there’s a firewall or three that’s blocking that access. There’ll need to be either public static IP addresses for the target systems at the office and a path opened through the firewall, or private IP addresses and port-forwarding configured through the firewall, or a VPN configured and established between the remote client and the target network. Or IPv6 and a path through the firewall. There’ll probably want to be a public DNS name established for the target host, too.
